Planes, Trains, and Specialized Meals is a blog written by me, about my travels, my journey to figuring out what causes me pain when I eat, and learning to cook along the way.

This is my outlet. Writing is my therapy and hopefully I can share some entertaining and lighthearted tales along the way. So please, ENJOY!

My name is Kaylee! I’m a 24-year-old and Toronto, Canada is where I call home. I work full time in Finance and Administration, but I wish I could be a travel writer (a girl can dream, right?!). My passion for travel has allowed me to see many, many beautiful places, though my list just keeps on growing.

I have battled with a digestive tract issue for the past 8 years, with no help from doctors as to what it could be or how I could be helped. So instead, every meal I eat causes me pain and bloating and it’s really not fun. I’ve gone through countless tests with apparently no end in sight. 4 years ago, I had to cut out meat entirely. I still eat fish, so I’m what you call a pescetarian. Meat (chicken, turkey, pork, beef, etc.) caused me so much pain when I consumed it that I knew I needed to cut it out completely. So cold turkey (no pun intended), it was out of my diet like that. And I’m not going to lie… I miss it. I was never a big red meat fan to begin with but.. chicken wings? Those I miss dearly.

Finally, after 6 long years battling through the discomfort and pain, I was recommended a nutritionist. And she has helped immensely. So this is my story and my journey to feeling better, eating better, and understanding my body better. And hopefully I can help someone else too. So please join me 🙂
